
At the end of February, the Immigration Bureau announced the current status of immigration enforcement for fiscal year 2020.
According to this, a total of 7,923 Asians were arrested. Among them were 1,964 Chinese, 1717 Indians, 143 Koreans, 110 Indonesians, 107 Cambodians, 19 Taiwanese and 8 Japanese.
2,508 people were arrested in Detroit.
Of the 241,763 foreigners who were denied re-entry, 101,496 were Asians (India: 18,655, China: 17,172, Korea: 2,661, Indonesia: 1,711, Malaysia: 890, Sri Lanka: 885, Vietnam: 829 and Japan: 466).
Of these, 4,163 cases occurred in Detroit.
In 2020, a total of 239,151 people were removed and 16,7327 people were returned. Among them, 82,188 were Asians (China: 15,016, Korea: 2,411, Japan: 394, India: 14,184, Indonesia: 990, Malaysia: 152, Sri Lanka: 761, Vietnam: 689).
The total number of deportations for criminal cases is 118,357. The number for Asians were 2,401(China: 408, Korea: 70, Japan: 11, India: 546, Indonesia: 33, Malaysia: 19, Sri Lanka: 12, Vietnam: 79)
